Ignition Software Engineer

Your day at AT-Automation
You start your day with a cup of coffee and a check-in with your team. What’s on the schedule? Building new features, solving a customer problem, or making a system that was working “fine” yesterday a bit smarter.
After that, you dive into a SCADA or MES project in Ignition. You design and build screens, logic, and data connections that give operators in a factory real-time insight into their production. You test your work and make sure it actually works on the shop floor, not just in your development environment.
Sometimes you’re building things at the office, sometimes you’re on-site at a customer to get a system up and running. That’s when you really see what your software does in practice – including the surprises you always get in a factory.
In between, you collaborate with colleagues on architectural choices, think about improvements, and help each other out when someone gets stuck. Do you have more experience? Then you also guide junior engineers and brainstorm on how we can build things smarter. Mid-morning, you touch base with a client about a machine that sends data incorrectly or a dashboard that’s unclear. In the afternoon, you tackle this right away: you build new features, fix bugs, and think about how their process can be more efficient. At the end of the day, you update progress, log your hours (yep, that’s part of it too), and see what’s on your plate for tomorrow. No day is the same, but you always know what you’re working on: real industrial systems running in production environments.

This is you
Experience & Education
You have completed a technical education (MBO or HBO), for example in ICT, Software Development, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, or Mechatronics, OR you have achieved a comparable working and thinking level through relevant work experience and self-study.
You bring solid experience from the technical field and want to specifically apply and further develop your expertise in industrial automation. Experience with SCADA or MES systems is a big plus. Have you also worked with Ignition? Then that’s an important advantage.

You have a deep interest in industrial processes and understand how software is used to control and continuously improve them.
